2008 Project
Science on Stage is currently coordinating a major production to be staged at the Nottingham Albert Hall on April 12th 2008.
There will be science demonstrations together with performance pieces and also a major choral work.
One
of the items planned for this event is a new piece called 'Cat' which uses music and dance to explore the ideas of quantum superimposition. The title refers to a famous experiment dreamt up by 1930s physicist Erwin Schrodinger to link the state of an atom, which normally obeys quantum rules, to the state of his cat, which normally doesn't.
The upshot was that his cat would be both alive and dead at one and the same time.....provided that no one looked.
This intriguing caoncept is explored in collaboration with the nationally renowned taiko drumming company 'Mugenkyo'.
